FORGING
Forgings
A-Squared Engineered Products. The source of growth for your business.
Forging is a service offered by A-Squared Engineered Products, it involves shaping metal and increasing its strength by hammering or pressing two or more dies together. Forging can create products that are more durable than an equivalent cast or machined part.

Closed Die Forging
Closed die forging also known as Impression-die forging, is a
service offered by A-Squared Engineered Products. The process
uses high pressure to compress the metal piece to fill an enclosed
die impression for the required shapes. Manufacturers can create
limitless ranges of shapes and complex metal parts in this method. Closed die forging is preferred for critical high-volume parts because of its high-level precision and strength.
Hammer Forging
Hammer forging is a service offered by A-Squared Engineered
Products. Forging on a hammer is carried out in a succession of
die impressions using repeated blows. Hammer forging can work
to nearer net shape with smaller forging allowance, therefore on
high cost or difficult to machine alloys there can be significant
advantages in the Hammer Forging process. Hammer forgings
can usually produce larger and heavier parts than press forgings.
Press Forging
Press forging is a service offered by A-Squared Engineered Products. The process works by gradually applying a continuous pressure, which differs from the near-instantaneous impact of drop-hammer forging. Some advantages of press forging, as compared to hammer forging, is its ability to deform the complete workpiece, and the internal strain rate can be controlled.
